Ninth Grade iPad Pilot Program

Up With People

Imagine our students using iPads instead of textbooks. We’ve been imagining that, too. So this year, the Edfund granted $27,147 to fund a pilot program to assess the benefits of an “all iPad” learning experience with a small group of ninth graders.

Most of the grant went towards the purchase of 30 iPads, with the remainder dedicated to the professional development and curriculum development for teachers.

Orff Instruments for Buker School Students

These xylophones are designed to offer total, active involvement in music-making that incorporates speech, singing, movement, and instrument playing in a creative environment.

It develops the whole child with a balance of emotional and intellectual stimulation.

Now Buker Elementary School is on par with the music programs of Cutler and Winthrop.

Virtual High School AP Courses

Macbeth Tour and Workshop

Virtual High School allows students to take interest-based courses that cannot be offered at the Regional School.

The Edfund has made a three-year commitment to expand the Virtual High School program by one classroom, 25 seats per semester, thereby expanding high school curriculum choices beyond our four walls.
