What is the Edfund?The Edfund is a charitable corporation that raises money for an educational endowment fund. The proceeds from the Edfund annually support educational, financial requests received from the schools in order to directly and perpetually enhance the educational experience in our school district. When was the Edfund started and what are its goals?The Edfund was established as a community initiative in 1990 and was organized around the principal goal of building a permanent endowment fund to perpetually support the schools. The endowment is what makes the Edfund unique. Contributions to our endowment not only help fund grants annually, but will also help fund grants perpetually. As the endowment grows and generates more income, the need for constant fundraising can be reduced. Who makes up the Edfund?Our 20 person board of directors meets 10 times per year to manage all activities. Board members serve three to six year terms and are selected to maintain equal representation from both towns. The directors are all community members, some are parents or grandparents. Our supporters and contributing members include a broad cross-section of the community as well as local businesses and the Boston business community. How can I contribute?There are several ways. You could join our growing list of contributors who make a tax-free donation through our Edfund Annual Appeal. You could also consider a contribution of your time or resources as part of our fundraising events held throughout the year.
